In this post, we’re going to talk about “chasing the surge”, or chasing Uber surge rates. If you’re an Uber driver or thinking about becoming a Uber driver, you really need to know what Uber surge rates are. If your new or considering becoming an Uber driver, I’ll explain what this is and why it’s important.
In this post we’re going to talk about something that happened recently, and you’ve probably experienced this if you’re a Uber driver. What I’m talking about are fake surges.
Yes, There Are Fake Surges!
I don’t know what was going on today, but our surge rates this morning, this is what we call Uber Monday … Big shouts to my man, Orlando, for coining that phrase … but it’s Uber Monday morning and it’s usually a lot of surge out. It’s busy, people are trying to get to the airport, people are trying to get to their jobs, people are trying to get to school, so it’s always busy on Mondays.
Today, I am going to share with you, my fellow Uber Drivers, one of my secret weapons. I call this my birthday present because I found out about this … Well, I didn’t find out about it the day of my birthday but the day after my birthday.
It has made a dramatic difference in my income, and that secret weapon is networking with other Uber Drivers.
I’m going to give you two really, really, really good jewels here to increase your Uber driver earnings. Now what you do with these jewels, it’s totally up to you.
In this post, I wanted to talk to you guys about Uber Boost. If you want to make money driving, you should take advantage of Boost. Sometimes Uber will artificially create what’s called a surge. If you’ve seen some of my other videos, we talk about surge.
How To Win With Uber Boost
If you don’t know what surging is, it is when there’s a high demand for rides in an area where there is a low supply of drivers. What happens is there’s a multiplier shown on the Uber map. The multiplier may be 1.5 times the normal rate or it could be 3.0 times the normal rate. I’ve even seen it up as high as 7. In some places, I’ve heard about it being 10 times the normal rate!
In this post I just want to give you another option for taking payment outside of doing rides on your app. It is using Square credit card reader. I just got mine in the mail the other day.
How much does the Square cost?
Actually it’s free. You just set up your account. There’s a link at the bottom of this post that’ll show you how to set the account up. Just click on that link and go right through those steps.
How To Use Square Register?
Now, why is this thing so important? This allows you to process credit cards. Remember a couple of posts ago I told you about thinking different, having the mindset of a business owner and as you are a driver, this rideshare business is YOUR business.
